If this film had come along in the 80’s it probably would have seen the start of another franchise – not that other movies haven’t tackled killer scarecrows in the past but Husk does it with style.

OK – the storyline doesn’t make sense and the movie leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but that doesn’t really matter and it’s easy to get lost in this roller-coaster of a movie and just enjoy the inventive visuals. Of course it’s pretty much your basic teenagers in peril flick but it does play around with the formula which allows for a fair bit of suspense, particularly as the viewer is never really sure which character is going to survive and which isn’t.

Husk is best thought of as a latter day slasher movie – It’s silly, gory and fun.
